The difference the right piece of gear can make
About 2 years ago, I was in New York at my niece’s graduation and happened to be in Sam’s Warehouse club with my parents.
I wandered by a bin full of Swissgear backpacks, and stopped to take a look. The price on these backpacks was $40, I had been looking for a new backpack, and so decided to give it a go.
The purchase of that bag was literally life changing. I know what you are thinking. “It’s just dumb to say that a backpack changed your life.”. I don’t mean changed my life as in finding the right person to marry, or having a child. I mean just changing the day to day mundane routines of life.
I realized just how much the backpack means to me the other day when I went to Salt Lake City for work. I packed my MacBook Pro, two batteries, my power adapter, my headphones, a full change of clothes, all my bathroom gear, a book and 2 magazines into the only bag I took on the trip. It has pockets for everything, an iPod pocket and headphone jack in the harness, and countless other great things.
I sat next to a guy on the plane who started asking me about my bag, and I just started gushing about it. It was then that I realized that I was in love.
It’s almost as important to me as my iPhone. Almost.
