Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind
Author: Yuval Noah Harari
There’s not enough time to write about the greatness of this book. It is a seminal work on the history of humans, going way back in evolutionary history and walking forward to modern day.
Exploring everything from why societies evolved to live in closer proximity to the causes of widespread destruction to why hunter-gatherers were happier than we are today, I could not get enough of this book. I wanted to keep going.
This is a book I will re-read periodically for the rest of my life, unless the author or someone else writes a better one. Incidentally, I listened to this on Audible and it was a great way to digest the content. It’s a long book.
