Coach Wooden and Me
Author: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
"A solid book on life lessons from two wise dudes, with some basketball thrown in. "
I love books about basketball, generally, and anything about John Wooden. I just got done with this book and I would describe it as OK. Kareem is an OK story teller, and much of the book is spent talking about the fact that he is black, and how important that is to him, and how Coach Wooden was white but they still managed to get along.
I’m a big fan of Kareem. He’s lived a life dedicated to equality on and off the court, and was a role model for me in high school.
I will say that the lessons you’ll learn from Coach Wooden in this book make it worth reading. He was such a wise man. Lots of nuggets in here.
