Nerd humor
Back in March, a bunch of us computer dorks were at a conference in Las Vegas. One of the guys from our office had given us a USB thumbdrive to take with us, and it was formatted with the label ‘Return To Stu.’
Given that our co-worker had gone to such lengths to make sure that we knew to whom the thumbdrive belonged, we of course were not going to give it back to him. Instead, Heath Oderman and I decided that Stu’s thumbdrive needed a life of its own.
Heath came up with the great idea to create a Facebook page for the drive, and send it on a trip across the world. We had a co-worker at the conference from Sydney, so we took lots of pictures of the thumbdrive with various conference attendees, then put it on the plane to Sydney.
What began as something fairly innocuous and dumb has taken on a life of its own. Stu’s thumbdrive has been to the Great Wall of China, Katmandu, and is headed to Mumbai next.
If you want to follow along on this dork humorfest, you can send a friend request to Stu’s Thumbdrive on Facebook and we will join you in. The pictures are quite honestly worth the time to do it.
