The First Dog stirs up hate and discontent

I was trolling the news sites tonight and happened upon this article from Reuters wherein the animal rights folks are upset because the Obamas decided to get their new pooch, Bo, from a breeder rather than go to a shelter.

Only in the United States, where we are supposed to be in one of the worst economic crises of modern times ( according to the President himself ) that we may not ever get through ( again according to the President himself ) do people have the time, energy and money to waste on making this a top news item.

Poor Bo. He just wanted a decent home, and happened to perhaps find one. Who could have seen he would become the poster dog of “elitist” behavior? I mean, who could have seen that one coming? The Obamas? Elitist? I am shocked.
